The school is okay. The teachers can teach their students good depending on how seriously they take their job and the students can be nice too. It's way better than most public schools in many ways. Extra food at the cafeteria, SAIL which is 20 minutes of time to do homework or visit teacher to help in educational things in their class, more early dismissal and more things. It's a good school if you want your kids to be good on their grades and the teachers can have more contact to the adult just for stuff like conferences, grade reports, and behavior reports. One problem, the school doesn't allow backpacks, no phones on campus, and having to pay for extra fees. Overall, it's a very neutral school.

They are extremely strict for no reason. They take so much of your money for MANDATORY planners, lanyards, a clear backpack, and shirts. Children aloud to have their phones on campus, not even for emergency’s. My child went from 6-8 grade and has told me that mainly all teachers are awful. They set up your kids to fail. Do not let your kids go here.

The teachers so far have been great from my point of view. However, my child will say some teachers are inexperienced and lack the skills to keep control of their classroom.
The administration office is not there to help you. You'll find they are cold, unacommidating and lack compassion. You will not find an ally there.

Extreme bullying issue at this school. Curriculum and teachers fine. Need more monitors possibly watching what goes on when the teachers can not. It's like a middle school "Mean Girls". I am a parent and have been on the phone with guidance more times then I can count. I feel they are more focused on grades then on what goes on besides the homework.

All 3 of our kids went to Discovery Academy and we live about 20 miles away. They loved the teaching style, the teachers, and the team sports opportunities after school. No regrets going here.

a bus driver did not even stop at my bus stop even though she stops at every other bus stop but so much for free transportation because now i cant go to school during an fsa......ps.that bus driver was ms.newman ......discovery academy of lake alfred, i hope you see this because ive had an assigned seat for the whole year because i was at the back of the bus and someone threw a paperball and she thought it was me. the ac and emergency vents were open and i cant throw that well, ask my old softball team. That woman has done everything in her power to make people not feel welcome on a public bus. i did do some bad things, but then again its not right to falsely accuse someone. over all good teachers.
